The systemic wealth gap between men and women is real. The pay gap is significantly large in the financial sector. When ABN AMRO asked for ideas to challenge the wealth gap, we challenged ABN AMRO to start with itself and lead by example. The final product, Bouw Box, is a symbolic gift for the future child and a conversation starter between the HR department and the employees.
A consciously designed box of wooden building blocks accompanied by a magazine featuring not only interviews with experts on the benefits of parental leave, but also ‘early-adopter’ parents who share their stories on how they took partner leave. Thanks to the efforts of HR department at ABN AMRO, taking partner leave is no longer an exception, but the standard and, most importantly, fully paid.
We are very happy that our innovative approach to this important topic has been recognized by the jury members of the DCA. We reached the finale together with other exciting new projects in the Dutch design landscape, and will continue to contribute to the debate revolving around gender equality and inclusivity.
