That is the insight behind our Changemakers programme.
The people we work with are exceptional, but they rarely get the chance to meet one another. And that is a shame. Because the lessons you learn fighting for change in healthcare look a lot more like those from neighbourhood initiatives or debt assistance programmes than you might expect. The obstacles recognise each other. So do the breakthroughs.
Changemakers is the space we are creating to bring that energy together. A place where people who see that things need to be different, and who have the courage to show that they truly can be, sit down together. To share what works, to speak honestly about what chafes, and to move forward with new ideas and renewed energy.
In our first edition, we brought together a carefully chosen group of changemakers from different domains for roundtable conversations, shared case studies, and a relaxed dinner where the real connections are made. And this is just the beginning. We will be bringing this community together regularly from now on, because building the kind of trust and connection that makes real change possible takes time and repeated encounters.
Because the world is changing fast, and we need people who are not waiting for permission to make it better. We think it is time they got to know each other.
